Did I miss something? I wish I had known all the particulars about submitting a film to dA before I wasted lots of time and a tidy sum of money! It's not as easy as submitting a picture. For one thing, it takes ages to upload. Then it has to be in the .swf format, which mine wasn't until I downloaded conversion software. And if there is no preview image, you need to submit that, too, which means I had to dig one up, convert it from .bmp to .jpg and submit that.
Finally, three attempts and several hours later, everything successfully uploaded. There was the preview image on my Gallery page. I clicked on it to see if everything worked. Nope.
Well, let's see if we can find a helpful answer to a FAQ. And the answer to the number one question on the list is:
"The film gallery is by invitation only to preserve the integrity of artistic filmmaking. deviantART is looking to maintain a certain level of production values in the films that our community of artists can post and appreciate. "
Well EX-CUUUUUUUUSE --MEEEEEE!
Like I said, did I miss something? I'd be much happier right now if I had known that in advance, but I figured it wasn't any different than uploaded a drawing. I'm in no mood to apply for membership in the Film Club, and it sounds like a dreary process anyhow. So...here's where you can find it:

Oddly enough, submitting THERE was a breeze, and Will Farrell didn't give me any crap. That's "FunnyOrDie," and frankly I'm in the mood for the latter.

I Write Better than I Draw
"A Good Workman Never Blames His Tools." But most working people aren't competing with current technology using pen and paper, a scanner, and an old, unsupported photo editor running on a steam-powered Compaq computer. Instead of trying to monetize my crude cartoons, I've been trying to sell my three-dollar ebook, Eden Beyond. It's been years and I've only earned crumbs. Just recently, I drew a one-page comic with the main Eden Beyond characters as a promotion. Fail. I'd complain some more, but it's time for Popeye on MEtv.
Not Beyond Eden
Nope, it's "Eden Beyond." It just is. Some science fiction for you: Earth has become uninhabitable. That part's not fiction. A few decades from now, people start leaving the earth in search of another inhabitable planet. Rocket technology still can't cross lightyears at near-light speed, so passengers must strip off their clothes and lie in suspended animation chambers. When one group's ship reaches an earth-like planet, the spacecraft is falling apart. They manage to land but the crew is dead and the passengers' clothing has been destroyed. Only a handful of space refugees survived. This Eden Beyond the stars is inhabited by humanoids who generally wear nothing, to the relief of the nude earthlings. The earth people must adapt to a different culture and co-exist with dinosaurs which aren't extinct on this new planet. "Eden Beyond" is an ebook available at outlets like Lulu and Amazon and costs $3. On Amazon, scroll past dozens of ebooks entitled "Beyond
Dino-girl and Tirexa: Frenemies
Both are from a prehistoric race of giants on the brink of extinction, like the handful of remaining dinosaurs. Tirexa hunts them for food, but Dino-girl wants to preserve them. She even keeps a brontosaurus as a pet (they're about the same height). D-g lives on a strict diet of early, "normal-sized" humans. Tirexa finds this disgusting, but she is even more offended that Dino-girl walks around naked. Tirexa has adopted the more "civilized" custom of covering herself even when the weather doesn't call for it. D-g finds this insane. On average, the males of this early race are about 3/4 the size of the females which can be disappointing for the women when it comes to mating. It's one reason for the dwindling population of giants. Like the tiny proto-humans, the giants come in a wide variety of hair, eye and skin tones. The so-called humans, being small and afraid, tend to associate exclusively with others of the same coloring. The giants, who fear only starvation, tend to
Shameless
Maybe it's because I was raised nudist that I know what it's like to not feel shame when others think I should. I've never been ashamed, for example, to pose in a life drawing class, even when I was a little heavy. Shame is a great thing to feel if you have just hurt someone; that's appropriate. Body shame is a silly type of shame that may be decreasing as naturist ideals gain more popularity.
Salespeople have to be thick-skinned, thanks to the rejection they face each day. A certain degree of shamelessness is an asset when you're manipulating a potential client.
I have been shamelessly trying to promote my sci-fi ebook with little succ
